KPS provides organic waste recycling services to communities and businesses across the UK. Our modern processing facilities treat over 50,000 tonnes of organic material every year and we continue to grow. But the material does not always come to us: we also provide recycling services such as Mobile Composting so the experts can come to you.
The organic material we receive is transformed into Agricultural Compost and a range of Garden Products. These are available direct from KPS and our carefully selected stockists. Our Agricultural Compost and Soil Improver are approved by the Soil Association for use in organic systems and also certified as “Quality Compost” by the Association for Organics Recycling.
We also provide Tree Services and Grounds Maintenance – please click here for KPS Contractors’ dedicated website.

KPS Composting Services have been working with Brighton & Hove City
Council this Christmas to recycle the city's discarded Christmas Trees.
And it has been a record breaking year for Christmas tree recycling in
the city.
This year 26 sites were provided across Brighton and Hove for
householders to deposit their Christmas trees. From December through to
January, local residents dropped off an amazing 357 tonnes of trees at
the recycling points - up from 95 tonnes last year. KPS then collected
these trees and is recycling them into a lovely Soil Improver Compost.
Steve Usher, Contracts Manager at KPS, commented "It was a surprise to
find so many trees at the drop off points given what was recycled last
year. However by working closely with Brighton & Hove City Council we
managed to clear and shred all the trees and they are now in the process
of being composted. We are proud to have helped Brighton & Hove hit such
a staggering recycling tonnage this Christmas."
Top Dressing benefits the lawn as it builds up the quality of the soil over a period of time, sandy soils will be able to retain moisture better and so the lawn will be more resistant to drought, clay soils will drain better thus improving root development. Another benefit to the lawn is that it will help to even our any lumps and bumps that are present on an uneven lawn, filling in any small hollows that develop. The Top Dressing also stimulates the grass to produce new shoots and so results in denser grass cover which helps combat the onset of weed and moss infestation. Green keepers apply top dressing to their lawns to keep a top quality lawn and we would usually recommend top dressing annually in the Autumn.
They key to applying top dressing is to make sure you spread it evenly over the selected area and ensure the top dressing penetrates down to the soil level and doesn’t sit on top of the grass.
